Ninety minutes before a runway show, backstage looks like chaos and runs like a kitchen. We followed one model through the prep line to see what actually happens to hair and skin under that much pressure.
The order never changes: skin first, always — hydrated, filmed with the thinnest possible base so it survives lights. Hair goes up in stages between looks, and the kit that never leaves her bag is unglamorous: blotting sheets, a toothbrush for baby hairs, and one silk scarf that has flown to four cities.
Her one rule for civilians: 'Whatever you think you need on the day, you actually needed two days earlier. Sleep is the product.'
