1. About TRESS
TRESS is a beauty platform run by Tress Labs (Pvt) Ltd in Sri Lanka. It helps clients find salons, barbers, skin and nail studios and other beauty businesses, try looks with AI, and request and manage appointments. It helps businesses run their bookings, services, team and reports.
TRESS does not provide beauty services itself. Each business on TRESS is independent and is responsible for the services it offers and provides.
2. The beta
TRESS is in beta. Features may change, pause or be switched off while we improve them, and some features described on tress.lk are not available yet. We may ask for your feedback. We will try to tell you before making big changes, but we can't promise that TRESS will always be available or free of errors during the beta.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date. One account is for one person.
- Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- If you run a business account, you are responsible for the team members you invite and what they do in the app, including front desk staff and stylists.
4. Booking as a client
When you request a time, the business confirms it or suggests another time or stylist. A booking is agreed once both sides have confirmed it in the app, and later changes are agreed in the booking's chat. Your agreement for the service is with the business.
Prices are set by the business and shown in Sri Lankan rupees. The price can change if you agree to add or change services.
Each business can set its own cancellation policy, and the app shows it before you book. Where a business uses one, cancelling less than 24 hours before the appointment may cost up to 50% of the service price, and not turning up without notice may cost up to 100%. Moving an appointment at least 48 hours ahead is free where the business allows it.
During the beta you pay the business directly for its services, for example by cash or card at the salon.
If something goes wrong with a service, raise it with the business first through the booking's chat. We may help you talk to each other, but we are not responsible for the service itself.
5. Using TRESS as a business
- Keep your profile, services, prices, opening hours and availability accurate.
- Hold any licences or permits your services need, and provide your services safely and to a proper standard.
- Honour the bookings you confirm, or tell the client as soon as you can if you need to change them.
- Show your cancellation policy clearly if you use one, and charge only what you have shown.
- Use clients' personal information only to provide and manage their services, keep it secure, and follow the Personal Data Protection Act.
- Upload a client's photo to AI Studio only with that client's permission.
6. AI Studio and credits
AI Studio creates a preview of a look on a photo using artificial intelligence. Previews are illustrations. The real result depends on the person's hair and skin, the service and the professional doing it, and a preview is not professional advice.
Only upload photos you have the right to use. Don't upload photos of other people without their permission, photos of children without permission from a parent or guardian, or sexual, violent, illegal or harmful images. Don't use AI Studio to create misleading images of real people.
Some previews use AI credits. The app shows roughly how many credits a preview uses before you start, and the final number can be slightly lower or higher within a set limit. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged for money. Credits you buy are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
7. Payments
Things you buy through TRESS, such as AI credits, are paid for in Sri Lankan rupees through PayHere, our payment provider. Prices are shown before you pay, and we email you a receipt. PayHere's own terms apply to the payment itself.
8. Your content
Your photos, messages, notes and other content stay yours. You give us permission to store, show and process them to run TRESS, for example to show a business's photos to clients, deliver your messages to a business or create an AI Studio preview. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
You are responsible for the content you add, and it must follow these terms and the law.
9. Acceptable use
Don't use TRESS to:
- Break the law or help someone else break it.
- Post false, misleading, defamatory, hateful or harassing content.
- Make fake bookings, or book with no intention of attending.
- Pretend to be someone else, or a business you don't represent.
- Access other people's accounts or our systems without permission.
- Copy, scrape, overload or interfere with TRESS, or try to take apart its software.
- Send spam or unwanted marketing to other users.
10. Our rights in TRESS
The TRESS name, logo, apps, website, design and software belong to Tress Labs (Pvt) Ltd. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the apps and the website as these terms allow. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Closing or suspending an account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people at risk, or when the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why.
12. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep TRESS reliable, but it is provided as it is, especially during the beta. We don't promise that businesses will provide services as described, and we are not responsible for services that businesses provide.
As far as the law allows, Tress Labs is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for losses caused by a business. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid TRESS in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
13. Disputes and law
If you have a problem with TRESS, email tressbeta@gmail.com first and we will try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using TRESS after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using TRESS and delete your account.
